There are two smooth water sections to choose from. The Grand Teton National Park section of the Snake River offers overwhelming views of the Tetons and wildlife and is operated by park permittees only. The South Park section begins south of the park and flows past private ranches and BLM land, often providing a chance to stop for lunch or dinner.
